The present review provides an overview of the present status of solar power generation and a high-penetration scenario for the future growth of solar energy. However, the study ends up with a future recommendation for developing better penetration in PV technology and generation.
The reason for this high penetration at low voltage side (distribution side) is the initial generous government subsidies in the form of rebates on the cost of PV system installation, Renewable Energy Certificates that can be sold for cash, attractive distributor feed-in-tariffs and increasing electricity retail prices [, , ].
It can be concluded that at a low penetration rate of PV capacity on an energy basis, the overall value of PV capacity decreases.
